Respite Care policy is available in Service Chapter 607-05-70-45-20-01.

 

**NOTE** Respite care is not substitute care. There are times when a foster parent is unavailable to care for a foster child due to other commitments (vacation, funeral, special out of town event, etc.). Respite care cannot be used when a foster parent is unavailable and in need of substitute care.
